We are glad to announce that Apple has approved our Nulaz Augmented Reality Premium version 2.0 in iTunes. It has been improved lots; all the improvements of the free version are also in here, with some special AR updates on top of that. This weekend our server administrator had a lot of “fun”. Normally we already have around 10.000 overall downloads of Nulaz per day, but not a lot through iTunes . Then suddenly our number of users increased rapidly. Uploaded pictures were many more than ususal. Why this rise all of a sudden? Because we made our Nulaz AR premium version free for one day for the AppEvent. Basically, it is an event that consists of making one iPhone app free per day.
It was organized by only one person: Wouter de Smet. He made an enormous effort in contacting a lot of Dutch and Belgium developers to take part in the AppEvent. We would like to thank him for this chance we were given.
And of course, we would really like to thank YOU all. Yes, you, our Nulaz users that hit the AppStore on Saturday by breaking the 5000 downloads barrier for iPhone in a day. We ranked the 12th most downloaded free app in the AppStore. We are very excited with such success, and hope that you are enjoying Nulaz as much as we do.
However, we would like to apologize as well if you noticed that our Nulaz service was slower than normal that day. So many downloads of the iPhone version on top of our usual Nulaz users put some extra strain on our servers which made it slower than usual.
iPhone users use more data traffic than the rest. We are working already in that so it doesn’t happen again.

Great news from Apple. Our cool Nulaz Augmented Reality version is now in the App Store – Hooray! Finally you can enjoy all the power of the iPhone 3GS in your favourite application. As mentioned in previous posts, the review on iPhoneclub and their announcement of the app, this version brings you a totally new concept.
The traditional map includes a new option (AR), which opens your phone’s camera and displays all the places and people around you based on the distance and direction. It feels just like your vision was enhanced with all the information around you.
Forget about spending time orienting yourself and the map in the right position to find places. Nulaz AR does it for you. And even more: it guides you to the place you select, using the phone’s compass. You just need to follow the direction of an arrow, that’s it. Nothing else! Now there is no excuse for getting lost.
What is more, with this version you get premium content from WCities for 250 cities worldwide as well, and all for only € 1,59!
