Yesterday Nokia send us their new flagship device: the N8. After all, we are in the N8 Commercial. So now we can see how our software runs on the device and what we can do with it.

I have to say, my first impression of this phone is much better than I’d expected. After their N96 debacle and the in my opinion slow and buggy first generation S60 Touch devices, this one feels snappy and made for touch. A more thorough review will follow later.

We are glad they have sent us an orange one, because we’re Dutch.

We have added pictures to chats, and we have fixed some bugs. Notably at the messages, there were some issues (kuch..) that we have fixed.

The application is simple: you will get a question from Dr. Schlümpfi about the topography of the Netherlands which you have to answer. If your answer is right, you’ll receive points. If you answer 5 questions right in a row, you’ll get a special event where you can earn extra time! After finishing a game you’ll unlock a new level. The next level will be more difficult, so the further you’ll get, the harder the questions will be… In the difficult levels you will need only 3 questions in row right answered to earn more time, but you have to try to manage that!

You can play the game in 2 different modes: ‘Multiple Choice’ and ‘Point on Map’. The Multiple Choice mode gives you the option to choose the right answer out of 3 very interesting possibilities. The Point on Map mode is even more fun: depending on the level you’re playing, the map shows an amount of points on the map of the Netherlands. Dr. Schlümpfi will allow you to drag him to the right point on the map. If you finished the complete game, you will be an expert of the topography of the Netherlands!

To help you progress with your knowledge about the topography of the Netherlands, Dr. Schlümpfi is keeping track of your score. You can access your score from the main menu. Not only from you, but also from 2 other players, because you can store 3 accounts in the application. By doing this, Dr. Schlümpfi can compare the scores of the 3 accounts to give you an overview about your progress.

Right now you can only become an expert of the topography of the Netherlands, but as soon as you are, there will be a new version ready which will contain more parts of the world! Please be patient until your country is starred in TopoTutor.

But that’s not all: TopoTutor is also applied to the Apple AppStore! We’re still waiting until Apple approved Dr. Schlümpfi, but TopoTutor will be available on the iPhone soon!

KiloMeter Registration is an application with which you can easily keep track of your business and private mileage. KiloMeter uses Google Calendar to save the data, so you can create your own calendar to keep track of your mileage and print it, or export it for your tax registration.

First, you need to login with your Google account or if you don’t have one you can create it pressing the Create Account button!If you didn’t register yet your initial mileage, you will be sent to the initial mileage screen where you can introduce it.

ss Add entry!That’s it! Now you already have your first mileage entry in Google Calendar and you can see it selecting Open Google Calendar from the Menu.

You can also see your calendar list and choose one to add an entry or if not, the entry will be added in your default calendar.

If you got another car with a different initial mileage or just decide to delete or your data you have the Reset Data option in your menu, and after choosing it you will be asked to introduce the new initial mileage.

That’s what we did with the Nulaz homepage. Because we are not loading the map anymore on the homepage, it also loads a lot quicker.

Will Microsoft be able to deliver something innovative for a change? We like Microsoft for giving us one of their Windows 7 Phones, but only if it actually is worth something to us. We like the ideas behind their mobile interface design, but it all comes down to the actual implementation of these ideas into something nice and comprehensive. It is supposed to arrive sometime this month, so we are waiting eagerly.

We have almost fully dropped our faith in Windows as a mobile platform to develop for because a) customers don’t download apps, b) there aren’t much customers anyways, c) the SDK sucks (you can’t really create anything cool, and d) no matter how hard you try, the app you build will never feel snappy, it wil always be SLOW. We don’t want to create apps that are not cool and slow….

The promise of WP 7 is an interface that is in line with our Spatial Navigation ideas, and a complete revamp of the OS….we are waiting for the delivery and update you with our findings.
