A New Year’s Resolution: New Nulaz Release

Nulaz05Today we will fulfill one of our New Year’s resolutions (signing in the gym will take longer): publish the latest Nulaz Release (version 0.5).

We have made an extra effort last Christmas to make it ready for the beginning of 2010, to start the year with great news. Lately we have seen a huge rise of downloads and user activity in Nulaz, and we really want to reward you with new features and improvements.

So, let’s go to the interesting part: what’s new?

  1. Improved general look&feel on the application.
  2. Higher performance and lower battery consumption.
  3. Merging of multiple location information sources into one profile, so we don’t have 5 entries of one restaurant, but we have 5 separate descriptions for this profile, each coming from another content partner.
  4. Addition of events to locations: you can see a calendar of upcoming events for each location
  5. Integration of Nulaz locations and external feed items. Now you upload pictures to all locations, and provide additional info!
  6. Added fancy tab system to the profiles of locations.
  7. Full touch support for new phones, as the Sony Ericsson Satio
  8. The settings section has been reorganized in a better way.
  9. Better user’s location algorithm. More accurate now!
  10. Improved the filter for external feeds and locations.
  11. Better integration with social networks (as Facebook, Twitter, Hyves…). Update your mood anywhere and have updated all your profiles!
  12. Improved the search through people and locations. Now is faster and more accurate.

We have already applied it to the main stores, but unfortunately, they take their time to approve the updates. So, in case you can’t wait, just go with your phone to www.nulaz.net and get it immediately!

And to conclude, we really, really want to thank you. All the feedback we have got recently and all the activity we have noticed in Nulaz make us feel not only happy, but even more motivated to keep improving it for your needs so you enjoy.

Here you have some screenshots of this new release:

Screen shot 2009-12-24 at 10.40.14 AMYou have probably noticed that it’s getting a bit crowded in Nulaz sometimes, with people popping up all over the map. That’s because next to our regular’s we’ve welcomed a new stream of visitors in our little world. These people come from Sony Ericsson’s Play Now Arena where we are featured as one of the coolest free apps!

We are glad to see so much traction on Sony Ericsson devices, and we’re happy that our hard work on creating the S60 Touch Version pays off nicely on the new Satio device.

TGIF: Nulaz users love Fridays

Screen shot 2009-12-11 at 6.51.51 PMEvery Friday in the evening, we think it’s time to pop a beer and throw our legs on the table. However, right at that moment our poor servers need to do overtime. For some reason, our users are massively swarming online: connecting, chatting, and publicly sharing their location. It seems that the Friday evening conveys a universal behavior: get out there and meet interesting people!

Nulaz AR Version Finally hits the Appstore

Nulaz_AR_512x512Great news from Apple. Our cool Nulaz Augmented Reality version is now in the App Store – Hooray! Finally you can enjoy all the power of the iPhone 3GS in your favourite application. As mentioned in previous posts, the review on iPhoneclub and their announcement of the app, this version brings you a totally new concept.

The traditional map includes a new option (AR), which opens your phone’s camera and displays all the places and people around you based on the distance and direction. It feels just like your vision was enhanced with all the information around you.

Forget about spending time orienting yourself and the map in the right position to find places. Nulaz AR does it for you. And even more: it guides you to the place you select, using the phone’s compass. You just need to follow the direction of an arrow, that’s it. Nothing else!  Now there is no excuse for getting lost.

What is more, with this version you get premium content from WCities for 250 cities worldwide as well, and all for only € 1,59!
