Kilometer Registratie on your iPhone

Every now and then we see a simple solution to every day life nuisance, and we think: we can build an app for that. We know that there are already a couple of apps doing kilometer registration, but we wanted one that integrates with google apps, and we build it.

KiloMeter Registration is an application with which you can easily keep track of your business and private mileage. Kilometer uses google calendar to save the data, so you can create your own calendar to keep track of your mileage and print it, or export it for your tax registration.

If your business is running Google Apps this is a nice way to register the mileage of users.

We chose for a a “dashboard” design where you just tap the mileage meter and have the possibility to update the mileage. The trip is automatically added to your google calendar and you can choose which calendar you want to use, and see it from within the app.

GENERAL

KiloMeter Registration is an application with which you can easily keep track of your business and private mileage. KiloMeter uses Google Calendar to save the data, so you can create your own calendar to keep track of your mileage and print it, or export it for your tax registration.

MAIN SCREEN

From the main screen, press on the mileage indicator to enter your current mileage counter, select private or business purpose and press ADD. That’s all!

The application w

ill automatically calculate the distance you drove, and add a new entry to your Google Calendar with the date, time, your current location, the mileage, and the distance.

MORE SCREEN

If you want to add a comment to the new entry or just modify the values for distance or location, press MORE on main screen an fill the new entry manually.

From the MORE screen you can also select the destination calendar from a list with all calendars in your account, see the last entries added directly in your calendar or sign out to start the application with a different user account.

AMSTEL TEAMLINK released for iPhone and Android

Today, we are releasing Amstel Teamlink for iPhone and Android. It took us some weeks of hard work, but we and Amstel are very happy with the result. Teamlink is an application that let’s you organize your soccer team in an easy manner. It’s in the Appstore and the Appmarket for free, so get it while it’s hot!

To our record, this is actually the first team organising service that has released a mobile app, and we’re proud to be part of it. Read further on this post for more about the functionality of the app, the official press release by Amstel, and to see more screenshots.

AMATEURVOETBALLERS HEBBEN ALLES IN EIGEN HAND

Amsterdam, … april 2010 – Te laat komen voor je voetbalwedstrijd? Op het verkeerde sportpark staan? Wegduiken als er de volgende wasbeurt moet worden bepaald? Met de gratis mobiele applicatie TEAMLINK voor iPhone of Android kom je nooit meer te laat, ben je altijd op de juiste locatie en worden rondjes – bier of wasbeurt – eerlijk verdeeld. TEAMLINK is een initiatief van Amstel voor alle senioren amateur voetbalteams. Sinds de introductie is TEAMLINK uitgegroeid tot dé tool voor amateurvoetballers. Zo kunnen zij de officiële KNVB-stand raadplegen en zijn KNVB-uitslagen en -speelschema’s erin opgenomen. De mobiele variant zorgt er nu voor dat elke amateurvoetballer letterlijk alles in eigen hand heeft voor zijn favoriete sport.

TEAMLINK maakt het leven van amateurvoetbalteams eenvoudiger en leuker met allerlei tools, zoals het afspreken van rij- en wasbeurten, het eenvoudig bijhouden van uitslagen en doelsaldo en op de site van TEAMLINK kunnen teams verslagen en foto’s posten. Inmiddels heeft ruim 30% van alle amateur seniorenteams een TEAMLINK aangemaakt. “Door de mobiele applicatie verwachten we dat het gebruik van TEAMLINK een nog hogere vlucht zal nemen”, aldus Chris Lakens, Marketing Manager van Amstel. “De TEAMLINK app is de perfecte aanvulling op de website en biedt de functionaliteiten die TEAMLINK.nl heeft plus een aantal leuke extra’s.”

‘De 3e Helft’

Zo biedt de TEAMLINK app voor iPhone en Android-toestellen een ‘toss-functionaliteit’ die ‘De 3e Helft’ is genoemd. Met deze functie kun je tossen wie na de wedstrijd een rondje moet halen, maar ook wie de volgende penalty mag nemen of de volgende wasbeurt op zich neemt. Verder kun je, als je het profiel van een teamgenoot aanklikt die speler meteen bellen, mailen of SMS’sen. Bovendien is in de applicatie de plannerfunctie verder verbeterd en handiger gemaakt. De applicatie kan worden gebruikt nadat er online een TEAMLINK account is aangemaakt op www.teamlink.nl.

Nulaz Augmented Reality 2.0 in Store

We are glad to announce that Apple has approved our Nulaz Augmented Reality Premium version 2.0 in iTunes. It has been improved lots; all the improvements of the free version are also in here, with some special AR updates on top of that. Nulaz 2.1 for iPhone

We released the new version of Nulaz for iPhone: Nulaz 2.1 and it’s already available in the Apple AppStore! This new version contains some bug-fixes, but besides that also a couple new features. For these features we listened carefully to the feedback of our users. So I’d like to use this opportunity to ask you, if you run into problems with Nulaz, please contact us! Then we can do our best to fix it and put it in the next release. We like to keep you satisfied!

New GUI
First of all, we have a brand new interface in this version. Instead of the standard blue background with white stripes and the typical white panels with rounded corners, we are using now our own design. You can check it out in these screenshots:

New maps from Microsoft’s Virtual Earth
In 2.1 we are using a different map source: the maps from Microsoft’s Virtual Earth. In our opinion these maps looks a lot nicer than the maps we used before. But there is another reason: as you might know, we’ve won the 2nd runner-up price in the Navteq LBS Challenge. Parts of the price are licenses and one of them is a license for Microsoft’s Virtual Earth. We are glad that we can use this license to invest in Nulaz, with Nulaz 2.1 as a first result.

Twitter and Facebook integration
Another new feature is the integration with Twitter and Facebook. This allows you to share locations from inside Nulaz and publish them on Twitter and Facebook.

Paginated lists
The last new feature I’d like to inform you about is paginated lists. This mean that in a list (Contacts/People for example) only the first 20 are being loaded, followed by a ‘Load more’-button. This makes the app faster and also safer. We received some feedback from users who told us that the application crashed by a big amount of contacts. That is now not going to happen anymore!

As said before: Nulaz 2.1 is already approved and ready for downloading.

Holland Heineken House is ready! Get it while it’s hot.

After lots of hard work, we can announce that our Holland Heineken House application is finished and ready to download! SMS Heineken to 3010 to get it.

When comparing this app to other Olympic Winter Games applications, the main advantages of this app is that it does not require data traffic. Beside all the Olympic info, the application obviously revolves around the Holland Heineken House.

“And what can I do with this app?”, you might be wondering. Well, it is the definite guide for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, as well as your reference if you are going to visit the Holland Heineken House and want to know more about it. It has everything!. Where do we start….? It has several maps with sport venues and useful information, sports program, Holland Heineken House program, ringtones, wallpapers, currency converter, etc…

And guess what…yes, as for every product, we want to make it available for everybody, so, as you can imagine, we do have a version for all platforms: iPhone, Android, all Java phones, Windows Mobile and mobile website for those who prefer surfing the Web.

Nulaz AR for iPhone 5000+ Downloads in a single day

This weekend our server administrator had a lot of “fun”. Normally we already have around 10.000 overall downloads of Nulaz per day, but not a lot through iTunes . Then suddenly our number of users increased rapidly. Uploaded pictures were many more than ususal. Why this rise all of a sudden? Because we made our Nulaz AR premium version free for one day for the AppEvent. Basically, it is an event that consists of making one iPhone app free per day.

It was organized by only one person: Wouter de Smet. He made an enormous effort in contacting a lot of Dutch and Belgium developers to take part in the AppEvent. We would like to thank him for this chance we were given.

And of course, we would really like to thank YOU all. Yes, you, our Nulaz users that hit the AppStore on Saturday by breaking the 5000 downloads barrier for iPhone in a day. We ranked the 12th most downloaded free app in the AppStore. We are very excited with such success, and hope that you are enjoying Nulaz as much as we do.

However, we would like to apologize as well if you noticed that our Nulaz service was slower than normal that day. So many downloads of the iPhone version on top of our usual Nulaz users put some extra strain on our servers which made it slower than usual.

iPhone users use more data traffic than the rest. We are working already in that so it doesn’t happen again.

And to conclude, we have a surprise for you: SMS My Position will be free soon as well in the AppEvent! Please stay tuned.
